A trendsetter in the bakery industry

Held in Stuttgart from the 21st to the 24th of September, südback 2019 is one of the most important events for artisan bakers and confectioners. This year over 700 exhibitors are expected to present their products and services to around 38,000 visitors from home and abroad on a gross exhibition area of 65,000 m2 in 6 exhibition halls.

Messe Stuttgart and its partners – the Bäko Head Office of Southern Germany (manufacturer of bakery and pastry ingredients), the State Association of Guilds of Württemberg Bakers and the State Association of Guilds of Baden-Württemberg Confectioners – are aiming to top the records from the previous event. Whether it is working and operating technology, shop fixtures and fittings, raw materials, merchandise or sales promotion, all products and services showcased at südback 2019 are adapted to the needs of artisan bakers and confectioners.
The successful combination of a traditional trade fair and an accompanying program provides professional visitors with numerous opportunities to obtain information on trends and new products, and also exchange know-how and experiences with colleagues and experts. The Bakers’ Trend Forum in the Alfred Kärcher Hall (Hall 8) showcases a varied program of production, sales, marketing and café by the German National Bakers Academy (Südwest and Weinheim), among others. As in previous years the competition for the Carlo Wildt Cup for trainees is held in the Confectioners’ Trend Forum (Hall 7). The latest pastry trends are presented by both renowned professionals and trade associations and exhibitors, with plenty of room for Bäko’s proposals, with ideas ranging from ingredients for baked goods and high value snacks to new recipes and tips for breakfasts and creative sandwiches. And finally, particular emphasis is given to organic products, another segment that promises good market opportunities.
