Dessert tribute to NYC

Dominique Ansel presents 9 new desserts inspired by all the things we love about the Big Apple
July 4 – September 2 | Dominique Ansel Bakery, NY

Stop by Dominique Ansel Bakery in Soho all summer long, from July 4th through Labor Day (September 2nd), as they transform their entire pastry case into a tribute to NYC. This year marks Chef Dominique’s 15th year in New York, so what better way to celebrate than with a dessert love letter to the city?

The “Everything Bagel & Schmear” Pavlova is a honey graham cracker meringue topped with sesame seeds, poppy seeds, and toasted coconut, filled with cheesecake mousse and sour cherry jam. The Bodega Coffee Tiramisu is a nod to those iconic blue coffee cups at the corner bodega, with espresso & amaretto-soaked almond biscuit, mascarpone ganache, and dark chocolate mousse.
Inspired by a classic apple pie crust, A Bite of the Big Apple is an apple gelée, fresh Gala apples, and vanilla bavaroise, set atop vanilla sablé with a hint of sharp cheddar. The Pretzel is a nod to those fluffy soft street cart pretzels, made with pretzel bavaroise, gooey soft caramel, and crispy pretzel feuilletine.
Ansel ricreates a Stroll Through Central Park Chocolate Hazelnut Acorn with a hazelnut mousse, blackberry crème de cassis jam, and hazelnut dacquoise, surrounded by dark chocolate and topped with crispy hazelnut feuilletine. New York Slice is A slice of NYC pizza, which is actually a strawberry tart, with fromage blanc mousse, fresh sliced strawberries, strawberry basil jam, and kirsch-soaked almond biscuit, on a vanilla sablé “crust”.
Among the NY iconic desserts by Dominique Ansel, there also is New Yorkers’ favorite snack: a hot dog with the works! But in this case, with raspberry cremeux, passion fruit curd “mustard”, and shredded coconut “kraut” in a biscuit à la cuillère (ladyfinger) “bun”. Finally, the pastry chef presents two éclairs. The Yellow Taxi Salted Caramel Éclair, which is filled with creamy salted caramel pastry cream, and the Spring Street Chocolate Éclair, which is filled with chocolate pastry cream and named for our Spring Street home.
