The Salon du Chocolat is the not-to-be-missed event for those who share a passion for this exceptional product. It creates an unfailing link between the people who grow the cocoa and those who eat the chocolate. For its 2013 edition from 30 October through 3 November, the Salon du Chocolat will increase from 12,500 to 20,000 sqm dedicated entirely to sweet treats. Its chocolaty centre in Pavilions 5.2 and 5.3 of Porte de Versailles Exhibition Center will become the meeting place for the big names in Chocolate and Fine Pastry. The new space (Pavilion 5.1) will house Confectionery and Regional Specialities to delight the taste buds of all epicureans. Through its exciting events and in the heart of these new spaces dedicated to Chocolate and Confectionery, the 2013 Salon du Chocolat will focus on a question that is both culinary and existential: Why is chocolate so magical?
Being a worldwide event and a veritable international label, The Salon du Chocolat will host more than 400 participants, chocolatiers, chefs and pastry chefs, cocoa experts, from all over the world.
Cocoa Show
A vibrant space for meetings and exchanges in the heart of the Salon du Chocolat, the Cocoa Show celebrates all that is unique about chocolate culture and features dance, songs, rituals and traditions of cocoa-producing countries.
For the 2012 edition of the Salon du Chocolat, 25 live performances were presented by Bruno Cosquer www.brunocosquer.fr: a delight for adults and children alike!
Demonstrations of chocolate recipes by world-famous chefs
The greatest French and international chefs, pastry chefs and chocolatiers follow one another in the Choco Demo demonstration area to present their best chocolate recipes. In 2012 a total of over 40 live demonstrations and tastings were created live in front of the public and presented by Christophe Devé www.christophedeve.com. The day of Wednesday 31st October was dedicated to the famous Charles Proust Competition chaired by Pierre Hermé. The Choco Demo area celebrated young talents on Thursday 1st November, with the support of Valrhona. The Salon du Chocolat also hosted the pastry chefs of Paris’s finest palaces and one of Mexico’s greatest chocolatiers, Jose Ramon Castillo who presented its “Evolutive Chocolaterie”. Last but not least demonstrations by International chefs (Spain, Morocco, Japan), chocolate exhibitors and the birthday cake of Cémoi’s Petit Ourson Guimauve.
Chocosphere: conferences & tastings
To understand chocolate is to love it. This is and will remain the philosophy of the Salon du Chocolat.
In the Chocosphère area, visitors discover the universe of chocolate and all its subtleties through a series of presentations and tastings.
Chocolate Bookshop
In partnership with La Librairie Gourmande, the Salon du Chocolat presents a space dedicated solely to books about chocolate.
This is an opportunity for visitors to meet authors and to have their new culinary bibles signed.

Workshops for children
Every day between 11 am and 7 pm, the Chocoland area welcomes children aged 4 to 10. In the world of Chocoland, the children are in charge, with their own chef’s hat and apron. A chance to dive into the world of chocolate and be transformed into a culinary artist.

Chocolate fashion show
The Salon du Chocolat invented the unique and audacious idea of associating the finest fashion designers and the most talented chocolatiers to create exceptional couture masterpieces. The 18th edition of the Salon du Chocolat celebrated “The New Worlds of Chocolate” and the Chocolate Fashion Show offered a visionary journey to the heart of the new worlds of chocolate in six gourmet domains. This year, the Fashion Show took the form of a special performance with the collaboration of the students and teaching staff of the multidisciplinary school MJM Graphic Design. For the Opening night, VIP wore the chocolate dresses with students of the Académie Internationale de Comédie Musicale.
Chocolate Awards
Organized by the Club des Croqueurs de Chocolat and L’Express Styles in partnership with the Salon du Chocolat, the Chocolate Awards pays tribute to the best chocolatiers and the most remarkable chocolate in the world. More generally, these annual awards acknowledge the art of chocolate and the creators who make excellence their passion.
