The recent Asian Gelato Cup, the first official Asian selection for the highly accredited Coppa del Mondo of Gelateria (Geleto World Cup), was a huge success. Held during the renowned Food & Hotel Asia 2018, the event was organized by UBM and supported by Singapore Pastry Alliance.

11 teams across 10 different cities participated in the competition; hailing from China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Macau, Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Sri Lanka and Singapore. They have showed tremendous commitment and dedication to their craft, and set a benchmark for many aspiring pastry beginners and professionals alike. The overall standard and effort put into this competition was simply remarkable.
“We would also like to congratulate the Singapore Gelato Team for clinching the Gold Medal, followed by Japan – said Kenny Kong, President Singapore Pastry Alliance and Member of Singapore Chefs’ Association -. The Imperial Hotel Tokyo Team with Silver Medal and as well as Malaysia Professional Culinary Association Team with Bronze Medal”. These Top 3 teams will be representing their country, as well as Asia, to participate in the World Gelato Cup 2020 in Rimini, Italy.
“Needless to say, the event would not have been possible without the unwavering support from our hospitality partners and the following coaches who helped train the pastry chefs in the past few months”, he continued. During the competition, they showed the best example of our top professional , team work , quality control. Working with his team and coaching for any gelato service ,even did cleaning the utensils to maintain kitchen hygiene at all time.
