Americans can’t thank Chef Dominique Ansel enough for the Cronut! …One of the biggest pastry sensations in years: this pastry is made by frying a laminated dough in grape seed oil; the fried pastry is then sugared, filled, and glazed.
But if you are a fan of donuts or waffles, now there is a brand NEW sensation in NYC and it comes from a different pastry chef: According to Pasticceria Bruno‘s Pastry Chef Settepani, one day he was “having a case of the munchies” and decided to combine the two. What came from it? A flaky, sweet, soft pastry that not only melts in your mouth but the taste lingers for moments after you swallowed.
