Esquire Magazine have compiled a list of the 20 Best New Restaurants in America looking at a range of exiting new venues opened in the past few years the food critic John Mariani opens with a homage to the American dining scene claiming that “there are just too many exciting phenomena happening in the world of American dining right now.”

The overall best new restaurant of the year went to Betony in New York  hailing the restaurants short ribs which are cooked in beef fat for two days at 135 degrees. Michael Chiarello of Coqueta in San Francisco was picked as Esquire’s Chef of The Year.
