Two centuries of history for Marchesi 1824

Marchesi 1824 offers a thematic tasting itinerary. Until March, there will be space for chocolate, in Diego Crosara's cakes and in the menu of chefs Sarigu and Ruiu.

Two centuries have passed since its foundation in the early 19th century in an eighteenth-century building in the heart of Milan and even today Marchesi 1824 remains faithful to tradition, steeped in contemporaneity over the years, to seal a style that is Milanese and cosmopolitan at the same time. Part of the Prada Group since 2014, it owns three stores in the Lombardy capital and one in London, in the Mayfair district, and among its haute patisserie recipes, Panettone is the stylistic icon of taste and refinement of the brand.

To celebrate 200 years of activity, Marchesi draws a tasting itinerary, which develops throughout the year, including four thematic ingredients that have made its history: chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and marron glacé, available in sweets, retail products, and catering.
Until March, in addition to bonbons, cremini, gianduiotti and Grand Cru, all Marchesi pastry shops will sell the cakes by pastry chef Diego Crosara. February is the time of the Three Chocolate Cake, with three layers of dark, milk and white chocolate bavarese, and a cocoa sponge cake, while the Torta Aurora in a chocolate version will be available in March.

There are six versions of hot chocolate drinks served in the pastry shop, from the classic with candied orange and cinnamon to the whisky flavoured one, with cream gelato or whipped cream (this last with powdered and candied ginger or raspberry flakes).
Chocolate also gives character to the menu of chef Maurizio Sarigu, who offers cocoa agnolotti filled with pumpkin with sanded hazelnuts, salted ricotta and fried sage, and beef fillet with cocoa nuances, carrots with hay and Moscato reduction in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. In Monte Napoleone, Emanuele Ruiu prepares pumpkin ravioli, cocoa gruè, late radicchio and scampi, and duck flavored with whiskey with chocolate sauce, carrots and orange.
