Valrhona is proud to announce the 6th edition of the C³ Chocolate Chef Competition, open to all restaurant and catering professionals.

In partnership with StarChefs, Valrhona will celebrate North American pastry during the North American C³ Qualifiers on October 28, 2019 as part of the 2019 StarChefs International Chefs Congress in Brooklyn, New York.
Recipe Submission and Regional Semi-Finals
Six candidates will be selected to compete. The winner will receive $5,000 and a chance to represent North America in 2020 in Singapore against five other regional winners from across the world.
For this edition, candidates must develop original plated desserts and petits fours showcasing Valrhona BAHIBÉ 46% Single Origin Dominican Republic. This recipe must be made using standard kitchen equipment. The chocolate must be the main featured ingredient, both visually and in taste.
The candidates chosen during the written selection process will participate in a Regional Qualifying Selection Semi-Final. 6 candidates per region will compete. Only 1 will be selected to compete in the Final. The Regional Qualifier Semi-Finals will take place between September 1, 2019 and December 1, 2019.
The six selected candidates will serve their creations on the Main Stage of the Chefs Congress to this year’s lineup of renowned pastry judges including Lincoln Carson (Bon Temps, LA), Kelly Fields (Willa Jean, New Orleans), Patrice Demers (Patrice Pâtissier, Montreal), Ghaya Oliveira (Restaurant Daniel, NY), Belinda Leong (B.Patisserie, SF), Kamel Guechida (Wolfgang Puck,) and the 2017 North American winner, Mina Pizarro (L’Appart NYC).
Applications are now open to all working pastry professionals in North America over the age of 21.
